Komatsu 941 Harvester

Komatsu 941 harvester with C93 head

941 is a robust all terrain forestry vehicle that allows one person to cut the tree and to remove branches at once, while sitting inside the driving cab in safe. There is thermal and acoustic insulation in the cab. Here the harvester cuts small deciduous trees.

The booms radius is up to 10 metres. In the harvester head two feed rollers grasp the tree and feed the trunk to the curved delimbing knives to remove branches. Rollers open max. 550mm. There are 4 delimbing knives and the head is hydraulically powered by the diesel engine that provides power both to the head and also to the vehicle. There is a computer recording the diameter and the length of the trees cut.

The vehicle is 6 WD and weights about 23,500 kg. The head weigh is almost 1000kg.

In 2004 Komatsu Forest acquired swedish Partek Forest with also finnish Valmet forest industry operations. The Komatsu Forest headquarter is nowadays in UmeƄ, Sweden. The owner of Komatsu Forest is Komatsu Ltd, a Japanese multinational corporation in the field of construction and mining equipment.
