The manual coffee grinder from the 1960's was used in households to grind roasted coffee beans for brewing. With the advance of industrialization these types of coffee grinders became a mass produced commodity. Due to the growth in industrial processing of coffee beans and the electrification of households since the Second World War, manual coffee grinders are used less and less. Today manual coffee grinders are popular collectors' items, decoration pieces and keepsakes. They make sound when the grinding gear, driven by the hand crank, grinds the coffee beans.
