Thicknessing Planer

SCM model S520 heavy duty planer with 4 knife cutterhead.
Made in Italy in 1998.
Importer CNC-team, Salo, Finland.

This machine is in use in Jyväskylän Uusiotuote ry, a workshop specialised on recycling. They repair and restore furniture at the woodwork shop.

Thicknessing planer is used to to trim boards to the needed thickness. A set of rollers draw the board through the machine and past the rotating cutter head. The table is adjustable relative to the cutter head to control the resultant thickness of the board.
