Asphalt Paving II: Soundscape

It is not uncommon to bump into asphalt paving works while driving around in Finland during the summertime.

During the summer of 2018 over 3000 kilometers of road is being paved. Because of the short summer period in Finland, the paving works have to be done quickly.

Asphalt paving is being done also during the nighttime when the air is cooler and there isn’t so much traffic.

In the audio you can hear as the asphalt paving machines and road rollers are slowly passing by. The audio was recorded from the sidewalk about 10 meters from the road that was being paved.
