Elastic two-bearing cylindrical crochet machine
The sound of crochet machine in operation was recorded in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź (Poland).
Two-bearing cylindrical crochet machine is a knitting device intended for the manufacturing of weft knitted fabrics. The machine operates using knitting needles with a tongue part, placed in two needle beds. One of them has the shape of a cylinder while the other the shape of a disk. The recorded device is the elastic-type crochet machine manufacturing ribbed weft knitted fabrics, used as ribbings in clothes. Fully operational and complete device is powered by electric motor.
The crochet machine was manufactured in Textima Wirkmaschinenbau Karl-Marx-Stadt factory (GDR) in 1976.
