OPERATION OF EIMCO WINCH
In 1960s, the stopes were fitted with overshot muckers (EIMCO 12B, Scoma). A rocker shovel, manufactured by Eimco (Italy), allowed faster loading of the increasing quantities of excavated ore. It was powered by compressed air and mounted on steel wheels to run on gauge rails. It was used for loading mine cars. The operator, standing on a raised platform to one side of the machine, operated the shovel by way of the automatic lever to load the ore and throw it over the top of the machine into a car, which full weighted about 800 kg. Once full, the miner pushed the car to the turntable and turned it to desired direction.
Stroj italijanske izdelave Eimco je omogočil hitrejše nakladanje vedno večjih količin odkopane rude. Deloval je s pomočjo stisnjenega zraka in se je premikal po tirih. Služil je za nakladanje jamskih vozičkov. S strojem je lahko upravljal le za-to usposobljen rudar, ki je stal na prirejeni polički montirani ob sam stroj. Prek avtomatskega vzvoda je upravljal lopato, z njo zajel rudo in jo prek stroja vrgel na voziček, ki je napolnjen tehtal okoli 800 kg. Poln voziček je rudar porinil do vrtljive plošče in ga obrnil v želeno smer.

The heritage of Idrija inscribed on UNESCO`s World Heritage List comprises the heritage of the mine and mining activities in the broadest sense of the world: the mercury ore deposit, underground shafts and galleries, mine entrance buildings, administrative buildings, smelting plant, mercury and wheat storehouses, residental houses, school buildings, churches, and the paths along which mercury was transported abroad.
