Soundscapes of Norrköping (10)

Following the road upwards from the bridge one enters a signature feature of Norrköping: the long tree-lined avenues that encases the centre of Norrköping, built in the late 19th century. The eastern part of these four avenues is the easiest and most trafficked route southwards towards Söderköping and from there Kalmar and Öland. Even though this is right smack in the middle of town there is a lot, and heavy, traffic here - during all hours of the day. Even more so during holidays when people travel down south.

Once again, this is something that the city council wants to change, removing this kind of traffic from the central parts of Norrköping completely. And with that, this soundscape will be gone forever.
