Wola Duchacka bus depot – the soundscape in the main hall
Recording of the sound landscape in the main repair hall at Wola Duchacka bus depot in Krakow. Buses undergoing repairs and servicing are stationed in the hall. The remaining vehicles waiting to start the route are parked on a large square at the depot. The recording features the sounds of repair works and ventilation.
Wola Duchacka depot opened in 1980 and since then it has been the largest bus depot in Krakow. On the premises there are repair halls, a bus wash, a bus park, a petrol station, an electric bus charging station, a waiting room for drivers and offices.
